When the five-million signature petition to indicate the intent of the Yoruba to exit Nigeria was launched, the entire population of Yorubas worldwide was invited to an online meeting where the leader of the movement, Modupe Onitiri-Abiola, addressed everyone on the state of the Yorubas and of Yorubaland, including necessary steps that needed to be taken, and finally zero-ing in on the need for the five-million signature petition.

This broad-based consultation was to thereafter become the norm for ushering in every new phase of the progress of the Democratic Republic of the Yoruba. This continues to be the standard and nature of public issues in Yorubaland, as the Yorubas have practically vowed to never again be led by the nose.
