Against the backdrop of some misguided individuals planning a “June 12 mass protest”, the Indigenous Yoruba People led by the provisional government of the Democratic Republic of the Yoruba wishes to inform the public and to make it known that any planned protest is illegal and unlawful within the territory of the country.

There’s no doubt that June 12 is one of a memorable days in the history of the Yoruba.

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE YORUBA IS A SOVEREIGN NATION FROM FRIDAY, APRIL 12, 2024. NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT ENCROACHMENT, AGGRESSION, AND TERRORISM WILL NOT BE TOLERATED ON OUR SOVEREIGN ANCESTRAL LAND. Share on X

However, everything that the “planned June 12 protest” is meant to achieve – justice, rule of law, equity and good governance – everything our father, late Chief MKO Abiola stood for, have now been fulfilled in the Proclamation of the Sovereignty of the D.R.Y and subsequently the swearing-in of the Head of Provisional Government, Mobolaji Olawale Akinola Omokore on 12th of April 2024.

It’s therefore unnecessary and illogical for anyone under any guise to be planning protest in the name of June 12 remembrance day within the territory of the Democratic Republic of the Yoruba.

The government of the Democratic Republic of the Yoruba is now in charge of the territory formerly known as “South West Nigeria” but which has ceased to be a part of Nigeria since the 20th November 2022 declaration of Independence.

More succinctly, the activation of the Sovereignty of the D.R.Y on 12th April, 2024 when the government of the D.R.Y was sworn in and the business of governance of the territory of the D.R.Y commenced immediately, despite the encroachment on the territory of the D.R.Y by Nigeria’s forces and operatives.

“Our focus, right now, in Yorubaland (the Democratic Republic of the Yoruba) is not about June 12 but about getting the Nigerian government encroachment off the territory of the D.R.Y.” “And hunger, starvation, insecurity and domination will be a thing of the past.” says Head of Adele, Mobolaji Olawale Akinola Omokore.

All indigenous Yoruba People are hereby required to take note of this. Do not engage in searching for what you already have. The ideals of June 12 are within the governance of Yorubaland under the directive of the government of the Democratic Republic of the Yoruba which has since commenced work on April 12, 2024.

Get yourself ready, as soon as the time comes, to celebrate the entry of our Provisional Government into the various Secretariats in Yorubaland. That is the next event and not any June 12 affair.
