The most important thing to the Indigenous Yoruba People of the Democratic Republic of the Yoruba, as at today, is removing Nigeria’s presence from the territory of the D.R.Y.

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE YORUBA IS A SOVEREIGN NATION FROM FRIDAY, APRIL 12, 2024. NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT ENCROACHMENT, AGGRESSION, AND TERRORISM WILL NOT BE TOLERATED ON OUR SOVEREIGN ANCESTRAL LAND. Share on X

The territory of the D.R.Y covers the erstwhile Lagos State (now the State of Eko, D.R.Y); Oyo State (now the State of Ibadan, D.R.Y); Osun State (now the State of Osun, D.R.Y); Ogun State (now the State of Ogun, D.R.Y); Ondo State (now the State of Ondo, D.R.Y); Ekiti State (now the State of Ekiti, D.R.Y); Kwara State and the part of Kogi State that lies west of the Niger River (now, together, the State of Old Oyo Empire, D.R.Y).

All of the above territories, today, constitute the Democratic Republic of the Yoruba, a sovereign nation, newest nation in the world and the 55th nation in Africa, and a completely different country from Nigeria.

It is therefore of essence for all Indigenous Yoruba People, and all non-Yorubas living or traveling through the territory of the D.R.Y, to recognize the fact that they are in a country different from Nigeria.

This is important, because, as it is today, the so-called Federal Republic of Nigeria still illegally occupies the territory of the Democratic Republic of the Yoruba, encroaching upon it. This is in view of the fact that the Democratic Republic of the Yoruba, from 12th of April, 2024, became an activated Sovereignty, with its proclamation of sovereignty and subsequent swearing-in of its own government, having previously, on 20th November, 2022, declared independence from Nigeria.

As at today, and henceforth, therefore, the Democratic Republic of the Yoruba (as delineated above) is a different country, a sovereign nation, apart from Nigeria.

However, because Nigeria still illegally occupies the territory of the Democratic Republic of the Yoruba, carrying on as though the territory is still a part of Nigeria, the populace in the Democratic Republic of the Yoruba can be easily deceived by the activities of the encroaching Nigeria, to think that the territory is still a part of Nigeria.

Democratic Republic of the Yoruba (as delineated above) is a different country, a sovereign nation, apart from Nigeria.

The Indigenous Yoruba People of the Democratic Republic of the Yoruba have therefore sent out the following warning and information to the general public, the international public, and especially to people, Yorubas and non-Yorubas alike, dwelling in or traveling through the Democratic Republic of the Yoruba:

  1. know that you are now in a different country, a different nation, apart from Nigeria.
  2. know that the laws of Nigeria do not apply in the Democratic Republic of the Yoruba, despite the pretense of encroaching Nigeria.
  3. know that nothing in the news from Nigeria pertains to the Democratic Republic of the Yoruba.
  4. know that because the Democratic Republic of Yoruba’s territory is no longer part of Nigeria, the number of states in Nigeria is no longer 36, but 28, despite any pretenses by Nigeria to the contrary.
  5. know that any discussions in the Nigerian national assembly that purports to include or reference any part or parts or the whole of the territory of the Democratic Republic of the Yoruba, as being part of Nigeria, is the concoction of Nigeria, the encroaching terrorists on the territory of the Democratic Republic of the Yoruba, and not representing the truth internationally known as at this day; the truth being that the Democratic Republic of the Yoruba and Nigeria are two different countries.
  6. By reason of the above, all activities, registrations, payments, contracts entered into, etc., and especially from the 12th Day of April, 2024, with the encroaching Nigeria on D.R.Y territory are not only illegal, null and void, but actually constitute crimes committed against the Democratic Republic of the Yoruba.

All Yorubas are hereby enjoined to not participate in any debate, discourse, activity of whatsoever nature or for whatever purpose, that casts the territory of the D.R.Y as being in Nigeria.
